The Municipal Government of Isulan is rolling out a free anti-rabies vaccination drive for dogs and cats across all seventeen (17) barangays of the municipality, in support of the national goal of a rabies-free Philippines.
Vaccination teams will visit one barangay at a time, with the schedule to be announced through barangay halls and the official Municipality of Isulan Facebook page. Pet owners are asked to bring their dogs and cats to their barangay hall on the announced date, with dogs on a leash and cats in carriers or secure containers.
The vaccination is free of charge. Pet owners are also reminded of their responsibilities under Republic Act No. 9482 (Anti-Rabies Act of 2007), including the registration and responsible confinement of their pets.
Residents bitten by a dog or cat should wash the wound immediately with soap and running water and proceed to the Rural Health Unit for post-exposure evaluation.
